Payline, wild, scatter, free spins — and the terms most often used loosely.
Most slot vocabulary is English borrowed into Thai and passed along, and a few terms get used loosely enough to become misconceptions. This page collects the ones you will actually meet.

| Reel | One vertical strip of symbols. Classic games have three; video slots usually five. |
| Payline | A path across the reels that a winning combination has to follow. Some games have one, some hundreds. |
| Wild | A symbol that stands in for others to complete a combination. What it can replace is stated in the paytable. |
| Scatter | A symbol that counts wherever it lands rather than along a payline, and usually triggers a bonus. |
| Free spins | Rounds awarded by a game feature. They are part of the game, not a promotion, and carry the game's own conditions. |
| Bonus round | A separate screen or mode entered when a condition is met. |
| Stake | What you commit to a single round. The only figure you set yourself. |
| Paytable | The game's own information screen: which combinations pay and what the specials do. |
| Volatility | A descriptive term for how a game tends to pay — smaller and more often, or larger and more rarely. It is a description, never a prediction. |
| RNG | The random number generator that decides each round independently of the last. |
Terms people use loosely
"Pays easily" — conversational, not a measurable property of a game. The nearest real concept is volatility, which describes a pattern of paying and says nothing about the next round.
"A good time of day" — technically nothing. Time is not an input to the calculation.
"A system" — when rounds are independent, the order you press or the way you size a stake cannot change an outcome.
